Hi, you should speak with Hedley Somerville who wrote a book about Ginger Meggs “A taste of Ginger” – his father Charles Somerville was a mate of Jimmy Bancks Ginger Meggs was reportedly based on Charles – the Somerville family where pioneers of Hornsby and Charles owned the local produce store near the railway (now Mitre 10) and Charles went on to lead the Hornsby Shire – was also well known in cricket.
